We had a really positive Annual Review today for R. R’s mum said that she was aware that an emotional barrier had surrounded him at his last school but since attending Aspire he is happier, more confident, more self-aware and gets up each morning looking forward to going to school. R’s mum also recognised how fond R was of staff and that he had previously found relationships difficult with male teachers due to a history of domestic violence. R seems in a positive place ready to start his transition to his new school.
I just wanted to thank you and your team for what you have done for M. I can tell he is very fond of you, and finally happy, so I am praying there may be a longer term option at Shortenills. M and I popped into Windsor after the school visit... He was chatty and communicative... it was lovely. He is definitely more confident than he ever was. Even went into warriors boxing entirely on his own last Friday - unbelievable!
I wanted to express my gratitude for everything the staff at Aspire have done for me and my daughter A. It is not surprising that you have an amazing teaching staff who are genuinely interested in what is best for the children and their wellbeing, choosing positive mental health over the need to be right and learning over discipline for a missing PE sock!
All of the staff go above and beyond in their roles. You have always endeavoured to treat A as an individual, even before the ASD diagnosis. In fact, after a distressing struggle chasing CAMHS and struggling at her mainstream school, staff at Aspire went out of their way to assist in speeding that up. She genuinely loves going to school and she is empowered to feel worthy and supported.
